It’s also crazy to think before carpocalypse Ford controlled Mercury, Lincoln, Jaguar, Range Rover and Volvo. Also GM looked quite a bit different too.

this map is a bit behind. since it still has holden and scion as well. mitsu may not have been bought yet, leaving it with the independent brands.

I think that’s because Subaru, Suzuki, and Mazda are the last independent mainstream car makers and this chart only shows conglomerates.
